My first Great Pumpkin Gift (to Myself) of the Season: Trick 'R Treat on Vinyl!

I hadn't had a chance to blog about this piece of awesomeness I found on Amazon. Trick 'R Treat, 2 LP set!
The Precious! The Precious!

The PREEEEECCCCCCIIIOOOOOOOUUUSSSSSSSSS!
Don't touch my Precious!

Just look at the cover art! The inside art is equally splendiferous! And the records, themselves! Stunning! Plus, you get a super-spiffy poster, too!
This is the whole outside cover. Ain't it grand?
!!!
And best little hidden treat? The inscriptions on the records!
Wear a costume
Hand out candy
Never blow out a jack o lantern
Always check your candy
I love it so much, I bought two copies. One to listen to (when I finally get a record player), and one to keep wrapped and unopened. (The PRECIOUS!)

This just makes me all manner of happy, I must say!

Hauntcast Post Mortem: Rigamortis

The new episode of Hauntcast has dropped!

HAUNTING GURU INTERVIEW: Mark Muncy crashes the dungeon to converse with Chris about Halloween, haunting and the Hellview Cemetery.
THEATER OF THE MIND: “Fear is modular”, Really? Rev seems to think any theme can be combined with any other theme in a haunt if the transitions are done well.
MARKETING MORGUE: The Dark Lord tears down the walls that separate you from your potential haunt patrons.
GHOULIE GROOVES: Break out the fiddle and put on your shit kickers as the Barnyard Stompers fire up the hoedown.
CHARMED POT: The Mistress of Mayhem puts on her bifocals and focuses in on her Summer reading list.
PROP SHOP: Denny unmasks the making of… well, uh… masks, silicone and latex.
SHOCKTAILS: JT and Chris cannonball their moonshine jug while incoherently blathering about movies Stung, Drownsman and Bound to Vengeance .

As some folks were asking for links to the reading list I recommended, here it is:

Getting Closer!

I'm working like a little fiend, every day, prepping for ScareLA! I'll have some pics for you later on this week of a few of the things you'll be seeing while I'm there, but meanwhile, why don't you take advantage of the special discount code I have in my sidebar when you pick up some tickets for the show?

As I've mentioned before, ScareLA has been steadily growing since its inception, and this year will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center. I'll be teaching a class -- which is full! EEK! -- while I'm there, too!

I've been upping my marketing game this year, as well. I got hang tags printed, in the name of preserving my sanity! Don't they look great?
David Everett of Chicken Lips was kind enough to design them for me. I really love them!

I have other things in the works, as well. We'll see how it all goes. I do have to admit, though, these days I feel a bit like I'm juggling chainsaws...

Took Off Work to Stay Home and Work

There's something inherently wrong with that statement. It's probably a uniquely American statement, too.

It's true, though. I took an extra day off so I could get out into the studio (and catch up on business phone calls) and make more things for ScareLA and my other shows, too. (Has anyone noticed that when you have a to-do list, the to-do-ing takes longer than expected, every time? Ugh!)

I managed to get a few "official" pictures taken of completed pieces, too. I have many more to do, though, including the annual jack-o'-lantern mug shot.
I did get caught up on sleep, which was long overdue. But all good things do end, so it was back to my early mornings and work yesterday. Tomorrow, I get to open the kiln and maybe Thursday, I can get a Raku firing in. That would be fabulous!

No rest for the weary!
