A.W.O.L.

I know I've been absent for a while. The two or three of you left who still read my blog are possibly wondering what's been going on, so I thought I'd fill you in on what I can.

As you know, Mr. ShellHawk and I are in the process of parting ways. The past weeks have been a whirlwind of packing the house and preparing to move back to Los Angeles, emotional highs and lows, going-away parties, divorce paperwork and the everyday things one has to get done in life, like feeding the dogs and taking care of the house. And laundry. And more packing.

And getting rid of pretty much my entire studio. :'(

It's a bear to move a lot of heavy things from Northern California down to Southern California, and then have to put them in storage for an indefinite period. I figured that by the time I pay for the storage, I could have saved enough to buy that equipment, so I decided to let it go. I hate to do it, but I feel like letting go of a lot of things will, ultimately, clear the space for new things to happen in my life. And it's not like my kiln is The Sacred Kiln of Antioch, or anything like that. It's just a kiln, and they make more...

Although I'm sad to leave Folsom and all the wonderful friends I've made here, I'm excited to get back to L.A. and start over. I get a great opportunity for a "do-over" of my life; I get to re-write my script, and that's incredibly exciting and freeing.

I'm looking forward to new studio space, new sculptures, new clay friends. I'm genuinely excited to see what my life will look like a year from now. I'm excited for the new body of work I get to create!

I'm excited for my new life.

So next Saturday, I pile into the rental truck with my friends driving my car (and my dog) behind me, and I head south.

For my new adventure...

Stewie's New Gig - I'm SO Proud!

Stewie, who once graced my front yard at Halloween, has gone pro, as many of you are aware.

I just ran across this picture, posted by Joel Watson of Heartstoppers Haunted House (now a part of DireWorld).

Makes a momma/creator proud!

Makes me itch to start making a new monster for my next display in L.A....

I'm a Creep

It's been so crazy with packing and getting ready to move, I haven't had any time to post. But I did get the hot tip on this amazing version of Radiohead's Creep.

Click the pic to listen, and prepare to be incredibly impressed!
