Who knew?

Something that can't be done with the ever-popular storage bin!
I guess I can't let my nephew sleep in it when he comes for his visit next week. Darn.

BlogTV Thanks

Well, I did my first BlogTV show last night, armed with my blue raspberry martini. Big thanks go out to Fright Guy, The Bloodshed Brothers, and Chris Baker for co-hosting and making the show almost halfway intelligent.
For those not able to make it, we had two home haunt celebs join us to chat: Mr. Chicken and Spider Rider, both of whom are gracious enough to be helping me with a new prop and revamping an old one. Chris Davis of Davis Graveyard checked in for some fun, too, and debated the value of blue drinks vs. wine.

We had two new TV stars appear, as well: Christmas Ape and Samhain. Neither of them has much comment, although Ape thinks Jeromy looks pretty hot in his little blue dress. (Credit for the pic goes to Jody Bossert of Haunted Night.)
I'll get some new pics of Sam up shortly. I have to say, it was pretty wild being gone for a week and coming back to see how much he'd grown in just that short time! He didn't seem to mind being on TV, and didn't demand his own trailer and makeup people, unlike Ape, who can be a little full of himself sometimes. Ape, by the way, has new Facebook pics from the Shasta trip, if you want to check them out.

I took the opportunity to show off the latest creations out of the kiln, so if you missed that part, you'll just have to wait until I put pics up for the Etsy store! (Big thanks to DixieDawn for her mini-ghost purchases!)
O.k. kids, it's time for me to get back to making Hallowe'en!

Sweet-Hot Giveaway

Just because you guys are so very fabulous, and because you work hard on your haunts throughout the hottest and most miserable part of the year, you deserve a giveaway!

Both Haunted Hot Sauce and 13 Gypsies Perfumery have been gracious enough to donate a few items from their respective product lines for you to win and enjoy. I have three bottles of Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein's Made in Hell Hotsauce and a mystery sampling of 13 Gypsies Perfumery's sample size scents. (Those pictured may not be the scents you receive...)

This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere in the blogosphere! Here are the rules, some of which are the same ole same ole!

1) If you were a zombie, what would your name be? Leave your zombie name in the comments on this post. Those of you who see this through Facebook need to leave a comment on my actual blog, not on Facebook.

2) Tweet about this contest, and leave a comment on this post for an extra entry.

3) Facebook about this contest, and leave a comment on this post for another entry.

4) Blog about this contest, and leave a link in the comments section so I can check it out for yet another chance to win.

5) Become a new follower of this blog.

6) Spread the word!

That's it! There will be three winners, who will receive one bottle of hot sauce each, and the perfume oils will be spread among the three winners. So please, enter at least once so all the prizes go out to deserving haunters!

My husband, foodie and hot sauce fan, describes Made in Hell as a traditional southern style hot sauce, and very well balanced between vinegar and heat. I've used 13 Gypsies Perfumery and can only describe it as subtle and not overpowering. Each scent is mixed differently--and my husband likes them, too!

The contest will end on Tuesday, August 9th.

Thanks a bunch to Haunted Hot Sauce and 13 Gypsies for donating for this contest!

While the Cat's Away--

This mouse decided to do an ep of BlogTV! Join me tomorrow night on ShellHawk's Nest Live Channel, Wednesday the 27th at 6:00p.m. Pacific Standard Time, and keep me company for a little while. With any luck, I'll be more interesting than watching your grass die in the summer heat.

And I won't have to fight Chris Baker to get a word in edgewise! ;o)

Happy Birthday, Oma!

My Grandma's 102nd birthday is today! Hard to believe anyone can still be chugging along at that stage, but she surely is.

She remains an inspiration to me, every day of my life. She is one of those people who never seems to waste time complaining (unlike me, to my chagrin), saying only, "No one would listen anyway!" with a big smile on her face.

For those of you who have said to yourselves, "Wow! 102! What she must have seen in her lifetime!" I have included a link to a timeline from 1909 to 2011, just to get y'all educated.

In other, less important news, I'm going to take a short break from blogging and attempt to get caught up around here. There is entirely too much to do before I open up my booth at Jack Russell Farm Brewery-including a few segments for Hauntcast, and I need to focus on that for a little bit. So, head back to the beginning and get in some mildly interesting summer reading...

And when I come back, I have a giveaway comin' your way!

Three Months Old!

Happy Birthday to Hell Hound Samhain! I can't believe he's three months old already. It just doesn't seem possible!

Hard to believe he was this small six weeks ago!
Official puppy training class starts Saturday. The trainer informed us at the orientation to expect chaos on the first day, so I am prepared  for crazy puppy behavior! At home, he's about 98% consistent on his "sit" command, and maybe 75% or so on "come," though of course distractions have a lot to do with that. I have to separate him from the other dogs while I'm training him, or he can't be expected to focus. The other dogs, of course, whine, bark and generally carry on because I'm not in the room with them, but they'll get over it.

In other news, progress, though slow, continues in the "making stuff to sell for Hallowe'en" department. Below are one of my jackos-glazed and ready for firing, and a nice candy bowl, which will take me a while to complete. Keep in mind that I hand-paint three coats of glaze on each piece, and the more detail, the slower the going! The bowl is one of the largest I've been able to throw, and is nice and light. I probably should have thrown it a little thicker, but overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
I'll post them again when they're done, plus the plate I'm working on right now!

New Treasuries!

It turns our I've been featured in a couple of Etsy Treasuries lately! How nice for folks to find my work, then like it enough to put it with other unique items-let alone in the same treasury with Dave the Dead! How cool is that?

Click on the pics to go to that treasury. Better yet, buy something!

Hauntcast Apparel is in the Gross-ery Store!

Season 3 t-shirts and hoodies are available in limited supply at the Hauntcast Gross-ery store's apparel page!

BTW, have you listened to the latest Hauntcast ep? I'd love to get feedback on my interview with My Ghoul Friday. The extended interview is on the "Downloads" page, under "Treats." The first minute or so, the speed is sloooow, so we sound funny, but it does get better!

Part two of Chris's interview with Matt Ford of House at Haunted Hill was fantastic! I was so inspired and envious that Neil Patrick Harris (of Dr. Horrible fame) is all set to do a voiceover for this amazing haunt.

Well, back to work!

A Kingly Sale

I thought I'd pass along that King Architectural Metals is having a sale. I got my plastic finials for my graveyard fence from King Architectural Metals, and it was a pretty good deal. While it doesn't look like the finials are on sale, you might find other stuff you need. Click on the image to go to their site.

Terror Onna Stick!

Still in my top five favorite scarecrows by a scarecrow master: Spooky Blue.
Of course, another is Stewie's daddy, The Grumble.
Spook's Grumble
My little angel, Stewie. 8' arm span, and all.
I am grateful every year that Spooky Blue was kind enough to talk me through this project, especially when Stewie scares the neighborhood kids. Thanks, Spook. You're a total rock star!

1938 Packard

Elegant, lovely and so very classy. This could be seen at the National Packard Museum in Warren, Ohio, in 2008. I don't know where it is now, but would love to find out. Of course, it's still not in my garage, so I suppose it doesn't matter.
The listing can be found here, via Remarkable Cars.

Treats! Yes!

For those of you who are interested, the full interview with Ghoul Friday is up on the Hauntcast "Treats" page! (Which is located under the "Downloads" tab.)

I find it hilarious that she saw this before I did! LMAO!

She was a truly fun person to chat with. And she is far wittier than I, so you really should listen to the interview.

Happy 4th, y'all!

And if You Pop Over to Argentina

You can buy this 1929 Cadillac hearse for only $30,000. That's about what a new Volt goes for, isn't it?
Listing and other pics here. I know I featured one of these some time ago, but I don't know if this is the same coach.

Another Classic

For some reason, this picture reminds me of the Universal back lot, where they filmed The Munsters.
Via Anderson McQueen blog. A nifty description of restoring an old classic horse-drawn hearse, though I admit I cringed when I read the words "sand-blasted."

Hauntcast is Available!

The latest and greatest episode of Hauntcast is now available, but in a strange and unusual spot for a little bit today. It's in the "Past Shows" portion until Guy shakes off the D.T.'s and posts it to the home page with all its nifty graphics. Not only that, but we're welcoming in Ed Gannon and Fright Guy to the Hauntcast Scream Team, so it should be a fabulously amazing show!
As an aside, Think Geek is having a clearance sale on Haunted Memories changing portraits, so if you've wanted one, you might want to pop over there and check it out. The sale is better than you can currently get at the Haunted Memories site (although you have to supply your own frame, so the cost may end up the same), and will make a nice detail for your house.
