Stuff 'n' Things

Choker by sillycut on Etsy!
I made a new Etsy Treasury you might want to check out; lots of great and unusual Hallowe'en things!
And I'm still waiting to see if a couple people will step up so I can do a giveaway of one of my hand-made jack-o'-lanterns.

'Cause I needs me some new followers, and bribery always seems to be the most effective means to that end! :o)

There will be some new creations in the shop this season, by the way. I'm currently working on a porcelain punch bowl with ten matching cups. If it turns out the way I'd like, it will be stunning!

Oh, and that blur in the upper right of that picture with the jacks? That's my female German Shepherd who get herself sprayed by a skunk last night. I am off to finish de-skunking everything I can get my hands on. Mr. ShellHawk keeps saying he can't smell anything. I keep thinking, "Please, stop rubbing it in!"

So much for my studio day I had planned! Now where's that carpet shampooer?

Considering...

A giveaway, perhaps, but not until the magic follower counter ticks over to 260.

Free jack-o'-lantern, anyone? ;o)

Carved

Sorry for the bad cell phone pic, but you get the idea. The top shelf will be the Raku guys, after I do some touching up!

Pumpkins Progress

I've been sweating in my studio for a few days, trying to get prepared for the upcoming season. I can't help but feel like I'm just running too far behind to ever catch up the way I'd like, but what the hell! I'll keep on chugging, anyway.

These guys on the top two shelves are eventually going to be Raku jack-o'-lanterns. I'm hoping that in a couple of hours, they'll be firm enough to trim, and then carve.

After they dry, I'll go over them again with a special file that takes off the little blebs and blobs that take away from the looks of the pumpkins. After they come out of the first firing, I'll figure out the colors. I know I'll do one or two pumpkins in a white crackle, and after that, we'll see where whim takes me!
The little guys on the very bottom are drying so they can be part of a chandelier I've been rehabbing. I still have all the original glass globes and the large shade for that one, so that when it's not Hallowe'en, you can just put the other shades back on if you want to. Can't wait to see how that turns out!

Well, back to the studio!

Ape and the Time Line

Chris Aype has decided to revisit his "Antonio Bay" trip on my Facebook page.

Not a bad job for someone who was made without articulating fingers, actually...

Last-Minute Father's Day Gift? Shocktail Hour, Of Course!

What could be better on Father's Day than Shocktails with dad?

On Shocktail Hour this month, JT and Chris Review Piranha 3DD, Prometheus and Chernobyl Diaries featuring music from Vegas Rhythm Kings.

I just saw Prometheus last night. I won't tell you what I thought about it until I listen to Johnny Thunder's review, because I just couldn't take it if he thought my review was "crap-tacular!" :oD

Psst... Want Some Candles, Little Boy???

Dark Candles is back, but I'm not sure for how long. From the newsletter I received today:

Dark Candles are back online and you can start ordering them today. We will be making candles all summer long, including all the Halloween scents, the Halloween limited edition and the Dark Holiday scents too.Once we have made a large enough quantity we will stop production until next year. Once they are gone for this year, they will be gone. So stock up early for the holidays!
So I'm not sure exactly what she means by "Once they are gone for this year, they are gone." Perhaps forever? Perhaps until next year? (I think that's what she means...)

In any case, if you've never ordered these, do it. Pumpkinrot turned me on to these, and I use them in my haunt every year without fail. People love the way my yard smells!

I don't care! I'm going to order here pretty quickly! And so should you, particularly that amazing "Dark Carnival" scent.

Mmm... Smells like Hallowe'en....

A Little More WCHC

Sorry for the delay, kids, but this has been catch-up week for me around the homestead. Of course, when I catch up with house work, my back has a tendency to flare up on me, so I've been dealing with that, as well. :o/

*sigh* I hate getting older.

But... Here are a few more pics from West Coast Haunters. Ape had a fantastic time, and managed to "scare" a haunt actor. I think maybe she was being kind to him, so please, don't tell him he wasn't as fierce and scary as he thought!
The Bloodshed Brothers, kind enough to pose with an old lady like me!
Haunted Memories, with the best t-shirt of the show!
Hauntcast supporter, Skull Shoppe, posing with Chris Aype.

That smile is why I keep making those silly jack-o'-lanterns!
More soon!

Hauntcast (and Ape) is in da House!

Christmas Ape, kickin' it in the hotel, and resting for a big day with his fans!
It's the first day of West Coast Haunters Convention, and can I just share with you what a wonderful job Ed Roberts, the Davis Graveyard crew and everyone who is attached to this young haunters convention has done and is doing for us? I heard from several of the crew yesterday, "Please let me know if you need any help with anything!" and let me tell you, they really mean it!

I needed extra tablecloths. No problem. An extra table. No problem! Help with a couple of very minor issues. No problem! Taken care of with a big smile!

I. Am. In. Love. With this convention!

The Bloodshed Brothers came in last night, so we got a chance to sit and catch up. For those of you who have seen Jeromy's girl, Olivia, on the Blood Vlogs, I just want to tell you, she actually is that pretty (and thin! But I'm not jealous at all! :oP) and a really sweet, witty, and down to earth kind of gal. (Jer- don't blow it! ;o))

It was so fantastic to see everyone last night! I am already having so much fun, and the convention doesn't even start until 9:00AM today.

Oh, crap! That means I need to go get ready! See y'all later!
