I really wish I still had the original album I used to listen to as a kid! I used to love it, especially the little intros he did between the stories!

Alfred Hitchcock Presents

When I was young, Alfred Hitchcock presents Ghost Stories for Young People was one of my favorite records.

I'd turn out the lights and listen to it, over and over again. Man, do I wish I had that album now.

Even so, with the magic of CDs and YouTube, I can listen to this again. I can't help but feel sorry for the kids today (Ritalin riddled as they seem to be) who would find the process of sitting, listening and imagining, a complete bore.

Horror and suspense fans will all admit that Alfred Hitchcock certainly knew how to make a movie. His sense of style and lighting, character development and pacing, were so innovative at the time, and have been imitated ever since. But did you know this man had a sense of humor and a touch of irony?

Perhaps he was a closet environmentalist, too.
