Epic fail. Raven was still too wet to be fired and his leg blew up. He suffered cracks in other places too, though not in the spots I had expected. He will join Gnorman's head in the garden.
Yes, I cried a little. I drank a few glasses of wine, watched Shaun of the Dead and John Carpenter's Halloween, then went to bed.
I'm going to rebuild him, no worries. Version two, as Mr. Chicken kindly said, will blow you away. I've been kicking around the idea of doing a series based on deLint's Newford manitous. Who knows? I may even get a show out of it.

Gnorman's head and the Exploded Raven, conversing in your garden. Something right out of an Edward Gorey background.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the next one.
Can I just point out how poetic it is that the guy with one wing also has a broken leg?
ReplyDeleteI kinda like it, but then again- I groove on flaws. The next version will rock as well.
AGH! I'm so sad to see this =( It's heart breaking =( He still looks amazing, regardless of his leg injury.
ReplyDeleteI'll be looking forward to no. two.
I can't imagine how depressing that would be but I'm sure your next one will be even better.
ReplyDeleteIf you make pieces inspired by the crow girls Maida and Zia I SO want to buy them. :0 ) Just finished reading The Painted Boy where he explores more of "the cousins" including a jackalope girl.
ReplyDeleteYes, Old Fashion Halloween, Crow Girls are on the list. And a few others, too.
ReplyDeleteI think they'll make a great show...
