Home Haunter DVD Collection

Have you submitted, yet? The deadline has been extended until the 18th, so if you thought you were too late, head over to the Home Haunter DVD Collection site and submit your video or slideshow. They're short of their 100 video goal, so they're even accommodating slightly longer videos. Please submit, because the collection is something to see!

Reminder!

The Haunters Video Awards deadline is around the corner, Darklings, so be sure to get that video together and get it submitted before January 31st. I know I've said this before, but the DVD collection that comes from this is absolutely the best! It's like being at a Mad Scientist's Convention!
The link I've included will show you who has submitted their video and will give you instructions as to how to get it uploaded. There are only thirty-tree submissions so far, and they really want to see one hundred this year if at all possible! Even if you only have a slideshow put together, please take a minute to submit it.

And by all means, please, spread the word through whatever groups and forums you belong to, so we can keep this DVD set growing; it's perfect rainy day entertainment!

In other news, I'm still sick. I'm finally going to have to break down and call the doctor today for an appointment. I hate that! The good news is, I should be finished with my sculpt today (fingers crossed), or maybe tomorrow, and then it can dry for a little while before the first firing. Fingers double crossed that it survives!

Halloween Nation

If you've been under a rock or lost on a desert island, you might not be aware that Halloween Nation: Behind the Scenes of America's Fright Night came out this week. I finally had a chance to start reading it yesterday, and let me tell you, it's more than worth every penny you spend on it. There are quotes from folks in the community (big shout out to BFF Chad Savage for a very articulate quote and a great piece of spooky artwork-Chad, you actually made us sound somewhat intelligent!), Hallowe'en history, ghost and paranormal talk, and yummy pictures galore! You simply must purchase this book!

If you'd like to hear from the author, Lesley Bannatyne, she'll be on Hauntcast come the end of the week. I talked to Chris and he told me it was a great interview; I can't wait to hear it! You could, too, if you subscribed to the most awesome Haunter's podcast, in, like, um-ever!

BTW, did you know that Hauntcast is running a contest right now? If you subscribe and get others to subscribe, you could win a copy of the Home Haunters DVD Set. Listen to our March episode for details.

O.K. Back out to the Garage of Doom!

The Home Haunters Video Awards Ceremony!

In the event you were unaware, The Bloodshed Brothers have announced the winners of the Home Haunters Video Awards! (Great job guys, and your sister is an awesome zombie!)Click on the pic to watch!
A heartfelt congratulations to everyone who won, and a big thanks to those who took the time to submit their videos for us to see!

An especially huge thanks to Chris and Jeff Davis for their hard work in compiling the videos, putting everything together and just making it go! They are very busy people in their private lives, and for them to take on this herculean task and donate their time and money to this venture is just a small indication of their quality and generosity. (I'm not worthy!)

Casa Fear 2010

At long last, I have the opportunity to start going through my Home Haunter DVD collection! It seems that every time I try to sit down in any empty living room with a tv and a dvd player, someone else suddenly wants to come in and ask, "What the Hell is this you're watching?" (Thanks, Mom. You've only been in your room all day, waiting for this opportunity to annoy me, haven't you?)

I got to watch one of my favorite haunts, Casa Fear. I wish I had the budget and the knowledge to add a few more pneumatics and animatronics!

Just wonderful! *happy sigh*

Pre-Order the Home Haunter DVD Collection

In case you haven't heard, the Home Haunter DVD Collection is now available for pre-order.

Jeff and Chris Davis of Davis Graveyard were gracious to take over this project from Paul "Propmaster" Venturella when he was no longer able to continue handling the project himself, so that we, the Home Haunter Community, could see each other's haunts. I have to say, I really love that there is a collection like this, since:
1) We are all working on Halloween night and can't make it to see everyone's haunts.
2) The travel expenses would kill us.
3) We would have to have the super powers of Santa Claus, to see all the haunts in one night. Not happening for me anytime soon. Anyone else?
4) Lacking Santa's powers, we would have to fold space and time to see all the haunts, which is also a talent I currently lack. I am working on it, however.

So please, support this unique collection by pre-ordering your copy today. You will have hours of home haunt yummy goodness to keep you inspired!
