Unspeakable Evil

Those of us who are homeowners have something in common: in order to buy the home, we had to have contact with a realtor. It's just the way things work.

When we listed our L.A. house, we used a realtor who had a higher profile and knowledge of our neighborhood. After dealing with her for a bit, it seemed to me that while she was good at advertising our home, she didn't seem to be doing a whole lot to sell it herself. Although she was friendly and professional, we weren't really satisfied with her performance. And then there were some of the potential buyer and their realtors. Chilling! Well, anyway. In spite of that, the house sold.

Mr. Shellhawk and I were lucky in that the realtor we used to buy our current home was really good. She took her time to point out details within the house we may not have been aware of, she let us know if there was construction to widen a major road, and of traffic patterns. She even found out that the termite report the seller had listed wasn't the first one, and in fact, didn't include several areas of damage. (He just didn't want to spend the money to fix it. Nice, huh?)

But what if...

What if the house had seen a troubled existence? Maybe an Amityville Horror-ish sort of house? What if the realtor knew about it? What if she revealed the big, dark secrets of the house (as legally required), but downplayed them?

What if she were more like this?

  1. It would be great to have that sort of honest disclosure when you buy a house. (Not the evil of course, just the honesty :))

  2. Very funny video. I had to forward it to folks in my family because of a recent eerie family get together. Thanks for finding and posting!
