Giveaway Reminder!

I just wanted to remind you that I do the drawing for my giveaway on Friday! Check here for all the details.

One of the prizes is a $15.00 gift card for Crazy Dog T-Shirts, a nice place to shop for those little "in-joke" t's. For instance, I just got these:
For those who don't know, Weyland-Yutani is "The Company" in Alien,
and Haddonfield High is from John Carpenter's Halloween.
They are so soft! I know that when I head up to Abel's Apple Acres for the Fall/Christmas season, I'll be wearing these. I can't wait for another horror dork to walk up and compliment me on these clever t-shirts! I still have my Sleepy Hollow Polo Association t-shirt, and it has weathered numerous washings very well!

As you know, I'm also giving away a jack-o'-lantern of my own making, and there have been quite a number of them coming out of my kiln!
Sorry, this one is a custom piece for a friend, so I
can't sell it...
So, if you want to get into the pot, please go back to the original post and post your comment there. I'm also giving away a 25% off coupon for my shop which will be valid until September 1. I promise I'll be putting some of my Hallowe'en things in the shop by then...

Good luck!

Giveaway update

I noticed that I have a few new anonymous followers and wanted to let them know my Summer Pumpkin Giveaway is going on right now! Click the highlighted words for details!

If you Anonymous followers would like to enter, please leave a comment on the original post so I can enter you in the upcoming drawing!

Also, I did a dumb thing and didn't realize I would be in Chicago this Friday, so giveaway winners will be announced on Monday!

Good luck!

Custom Faces

Just got a bisque firing finished and opened the kiln this morning. Unfortunately, I had my first home kiln explosion the other morning, within an hour of starting my kiln. I ended the cycle as soon as I heard it (I happened to be talking to a neighbor by the garage when I heard it), so that it wouldn't continue to explode and damage the other pieces in the kiln. My own fault, really. I had a feeling I should have let the two pieces that blew up dry out for another couple of days, but I thought I could get away with it. Lesson learned!

Fortunately, the three comission pieces I had in there did just fine. The client sent me the designs and let me know he just wanted them to look similar, but I think I got them almost precisely duplicated.
Since I'm starting to throw larger pieces and was on a roll for the three above, I decided to try a new face on a larger pot:
I'm looking forward to seeing how he'll turn out after glazing!

Oh, and remember: I have a giveaway going on right now, so don't forget to check the original post for how to enter!

I have also added a few more pumpkins to the shop, as I have nearly sold out of the ones I have on hand. Feel free to browse!

Giveaway? Alright...

Since I now have one hundred forty-one followers, I shall have to keep my word and pull together a giveaway! Give me a day or two to see which jackos I'm going to give away and we'll get the ball rolling. I will include my new mini-pumpkins somehow, as well...

What I know for sure is that for every ten "I want it" comments I get on the giveaway post (not counting the ones that tell me that someone's posted on their blog or that they're a new Twitter or Facebook follower, etc), I will give out one more item.

Stay tuned!

Oh, and P.S. Thanks and welcome to the new follwers who made the upcoming giveaway possible!

Maybe I'll do a pumpkin pot giveaway when I reach 140 followers...
