Bad News: My school project-the one I swore I would not rebuild-has died under horrific circumstances which I am too devastated to relay to you. Yes, I will rebuild it, after all.
Good News: A brand-new bottle of five-times distilled Kirkland brand vodka (rumored to be produced by Grey Goose) and some very nice mango martini mix, to wash away the tears.
I will return Monday with a new post. I should be past the worst of the hangover by then.
Oh no. Kiln explosion? Collapsed fraggle-smatch? I've stood in the middle of disaster. Just stood. Eventually you get to a place where you can accept the horror, pick up the pieces, and start over. Sometimes you have to sneak up on it, though, because if you're not quite to the accepting part, then things are going to end up getting thrown out the window and kicked down the stairs.
ReplyDeleteSorry you had to go down this road, Hawkgirl. It'll get better.
Thanks for the sympathy and the empathy, Spook. We all go through this at one time or another. (I seem to remember a story of a Grumble face-plant, so I know you've had your share of studio tragedy, too.)
ReplyDeleteI knew, when the piece fell apart, that it would be rebuilt. The positive thing is that it will go faster, because I have a better idea of what to do.
The martinis and Mr. ShellHawk's murmuring, "There, there. It'll be better this time," helped a lot, too.
